The Dawn Of Arkhive Media


The unveiling of ArkHive media, under the aegis of Mswitch, was a grand four-day event to behold. The event which started on the 27TH of September till the 30th of September,2022, was a rendezvous of learning, fun and a rush of creativity. An Art exhibition opened the floor on the 26th, with an influx of people exploring the exquisite Art in display. The day was filled with laughter, networking and further anticipation for the following day which was the “Open Mic” session. The Open Mic was a gathering of creatives, enjoying the evening breeze of the city of Abuja and listening to scintillating sounds and insightful poetry with a competition taking place between musicians and poets. The first prize went to Ellacentric, a musician, who won #200,000; the second prize to Moses, also a musician who won #100,000, and Diyo Matalo who took the 3rd prize of #50,000. On the ground of fairness, the spoken word artist, John Peter, took the prize of #100,000. Tule, the artist of the day, thrilled the crowd with his band and a song from his Iris EP“Jaro”. The excitement and splendor of this day kept people wishing for more in expectancy of the final day.

The third day begun with a panel session in the morning and a short film review in the evening with Mr. Kadir Salami, the Chairman of Mswitch media/Arkhive media, Emil Garuba, Kayode Kasumo and Chris Odeh as the panelists. Short films were initially sent for review by film makers with the theme “The Wealth of a Poor Nation” and Allyson emerged as winner, taking home $1000. Second prize went to Emmanuel Oyinloye,$500 and Crosswordz who took the 3rd prize of $250. The Final day was wrapped  with the official unveiling of ArkHive with the Chairperson of the event, Prof. Sunday Ododo, cutting the tape and ushering the beginning of boundless activities in ArkHive.
